Karen Horn was born in St. Louis, MO, but was raised in Pacific, MO where she attended high school. After high school, she attended East Central College for Dental Assisting and graduated in 1991.

She is married with three children. Her son (who is 20) works for the City of Union on the streets department. Her oldest daughter is a senior in high school and will attend Mizzou in the fall to begin her studies in animal science working towards becoming a veterinarian. Her youngest daughter is in 6th grade at Beaufort Elementary.

At home they have many animals, including dogs, cats, turkeys, chickens and sugar gliders. Most of these animals have come with her children being a part of the FFA and their agriculture projects. Her hobbies include cooking, crafting, reading and traveling. Her favorite place to travel is the Caribbean; she has traveled to several parts, and the views and the waters are breathtaking.

She spends her free time helping with the Union FFA chapter and the Franklin County FFA Foundation where she is on the board. This foundation helps four local schools with their FFA programs.

She has been in her position here at Washington Smiles for 1 ½ years and can’t imagine what else she would want to do. She loves being able to help patients in any way possible to make their dental experience a good one. She loves being a part of this wonderful team of people helping to make a positive impact on our patient’s lives.
